How you prepare yourself for the photo session is very important for receiving great images at the end of our time together.

Here are some tips for you. These will help us make your images together as beautiful as possible.

1. What to wear

1-1. Comfort is key Unless you have special clothes planned, wear nice and comfortable clothes you love—something like a slightly better version of your everyday outfits. I want you to be able to sit and lie down on the ground, jump, and run comfortably. Especially with kids, if they are wearing brand-new shoes and feeling uncomfortable, it will show in the images. So please wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting a little dirt on.

1-2. Simple, classic designs are recommended The images should be about you, not about your clothes. Designer clothes with recognizable copyrighted designs, large logos, or text tend to be too distracting, ending up stealing the viewer's attention away from you. On the other hand, patterns such as checks, dots, or florals are fun! Overall, I recommend clothes with clean, classic designs.

1-3. Colors to avoid The D.C. monuments consist of overwhelmingly white walls. If time allows, we will also move to a park area under the trees. Because of this, white, green, and brown-dominant clothes tend to blend too much into the background colors. It is wise to avoid these colors if you can.

1-4. Wear layers Spring and summer clothes are ideal for creating images that can be enjoyed throughout the year. However, please make sure to bring layers (like a cardigan or light jacket) in case it gets cold.

1-5. Watch the accessories Large or bright watches can also become distracting in images. Consider leaving them in your bag during the shoot.

1-6. Coordinate your look If all family members can wear clothes that harmonize in color and style, that is wonderful.

1-7. Bring a backup outfit If children are wearing special costumes or formal clothing, they can get tired and easily fall into a bad mood. Please bring a backup set of regular clothes just in case.

2. Hair style

I suggest styling your and your child's hair in a way that keeps it from falling down and hiding the face when looking down.

3. Toys to help draw your child's attention

Please bring a couple of small toys or something your child loves. I would like to use them to draw their attention toward the camera during the shoot.

4. Fun props for the session

If you have anything your child might like to play with at the park, you are more than welcome to bring it! Please let me know your ideas in advance.

Now let's have a fun photo session!

If you have any specific requests, props you want to use, or if you find images you particularly like in my online gallery (or from other photographers), please let me know.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
